Now onto what this post is really about. :D
Deb and I are constantly telling anyone who will listen about how much fun we have with the SoCal group and how awesome these ladies are. But we can only sing its praises so many times before it becomes redundant and tired. We decided to ask the SoCal ladies to write down their thoughts on the group and allow us to publish it here.
So, without further ado, here is OcSickGirl! (I like to call her Domie. ;D)
The SoCal TFMU group has quickly become one of my favorite groups of people to chat fics and hang out with. I have been a part of the TwiFandom for 2 years now and have made many friends online but never had a chance to meet any in person. That is up until a few months ago when a friend added me to the SoCal TFMU Facebook group and I attended my first group event. There was food, wine and lots of wonderful ladies that all shared a common interest with me....our love of all things related to Rob, Twilight, and Fan Fiction. Since then I have attended the Twi Saga marathon with them and also a going away party for a fellow member.
It amazes me how fast I was welcomed into the group and the friendships seemed instantaneous. Deb and Patty make a great effort to organize and make sure we all have a great time at each and every event. My TBR (To Be Read) list has GROWN immensely since I met these crazy ladies but that is just fine with me. I really enjoy getting together and being able to talk about OOC, Canon vs. Non Canon, AU/AH and have these people know what I am talking about!!! We can chat about what fics are owning us at the moment and warn each other about fics that might push our hard limits. All in all they are a great bunch of ladies and I cannot wait until June 1st so that I can meet even more members who can't always make it to the smaller monthly meet ups. If you are in SoCal I strongly recommend that you sign up for the meet up and if you are on Facebook look up the local group for lots of fun.
So, if this sounds like something you want to be a part of and you live in the Southern California area, you should totally check us out! Our next mini meet up (no fees required) is on Saturday, February 16th that we're affectionately calling "Love Spelled Backwards is Love". Get in on the action by joining us on Facebook. We're also on Twitter and we'd love to chat with you.
