Thank You

With Thanksgiving just a few days away, Deb and I decided to write about how much this fandom means to us.

Inaugural SoCalTFMU 2012

I'm thankful for a lot of things but when it comes to this fandom, it's the friendships that I most cherish. My coworker got me hooked onto the series but my sister is the one that actually sent me my first fan fic. She sent me a link to Wide Awake when it was about half way through and said, "I think you might like this." I also owe MeetUp.com for existing and my friend Katie that started a Twilight group on there, which I eventually took over as head organizer. Through that website, I've made my core of adult Twilight friends. They're like sisters and I can go to them for pretty much anything and visa-versa. I also own a huge thanks for the ladies that organize the world wide TFMU; because of their initiative, Patty and I wouldn't have started SoCalTFMU and wouldn't have met the most amazing women that we have. I am so thankful for every person, every connection that I've made and looking forward to future ones as well. To Patty and Denise, I love you girls. Thanks for finding me.

Twilight and Fanfiction came into my life when I was having a hard time coping with the changes happening around me. I'm so thankful that I had an escape from everything and being able to lose myself in another world helped me more than anything. I'm thankful that my sister happened upon a meetup group for Twilight Lovers because without her I would have never met Deb, my bestie. This fandom gives me a lot of things to be thankful for but, most of all, I'm thankful for the friendships. I'm so glad to have the SoCal ladies in my life. I've never had as much fun as I do when I am around all of them. I think it's safe to say that I'm the youngest one in the group and I'm still growing and learning about who I am; to have such wonderful women around to help me figure it out makes it so much easier. So, I am thankful to each and everyone of you.

I feel like I can't end this post without thanking Stephenie Meyer. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have had the chance to meet such amazing people.
