For those of you who didn't follow the SoCal Twitter account last sunday, I (Patty) went to my first Twilight convention. :D
I know that this year there weren't many big stars lined up but I really wanted to see the SoCal ladies that were planning to go. The second I walked in I ran into two of the SoCal girls and my adventure began.
I got some amazing souvenirs. I bought a Breaking Dawn tumbler. (I'm obsessed with them!) Along with the purchase of my tumbler, I got a mug with the Cullen crest, a breaking dawn tote bag, and an eclipse t-shirt. (Score!)
Charlie Bewley was the first cast member that went on stage for the Q & A. He was funny and had the cutest accent. I may or may not have a small crush on him now.
He spoke about how terrible he was at picking up girls and that he loves to go on running holidays. He told us a bit about his new role in Hammer of the Gods, which he is very excited about. Before I knew it his Q & A had finished and it was time for the Costume Contest.
I want to say that I loved all of the costumes. They were great! But I had two favorites.
The first was two girls who dressed up like the young Bella Swan and the older Bella Swan and had an empty frame in between them to show the 'reflection'. So creative!
The second was a woman dressed as a very pregnant Bella Swan, who suddenly went into 'labor' in the middle of the stage. Her 'Edward' stepped in and 'delivered' the baby right then and there. It was amazing!!! Although the first group of girls didn't place, the pregnant Bella Swan came in second.
Of course I couldn't go to the last convention without getting emotional, so when Twilight Lexicon presented their 'Twilight through the years' I couldn't help but tear up.
They presented what they believed were the major moments in Twilight History. From Stephanie Meyer's book signings, e-proms, casting of the Cullens, to Twilight conventions and tent city. It was all there and it made me so emotional to see it come to an end.
Tinsel Korey, Boo Boo Stewart, and Julia Jones had back-to-back Q & As. They were very sweet and grateful to the fans. They were fun and animated about on set pranks and crazy fan moments.
Now to the main event...
I went to Twicon with the sole purpose of seeing Peter Facinelli and he did not disappoint. He was fun, charming, and extremely grateful to the fans that came out. He debuted the new dance he hopes will sweep the nation. (He performed it on Ellen, in case you missed it.) At one point, he noticed some people leaving the room and jokingly commented that he must be boring everyone. So to liven up the interview he walked off stage and into the crowd to take questions from us personally.
By then my crush on Charlie Bewley had died and moved on to Peter. He spent a lot of time talking to fans and giving hugs to whoever asked.
I was extremely sad when he announced his time was up and with a final 'thank you' he left.
With the end of Peter's interview also came the end to my Twicon Adventures. I'm so glad that I decided to go. Not only did I have a blast with the SoCal girls but it also made me thankful to Stephanie Meyer. Without her we wouldn't have the Saga and without the Saga we wouldn't have Twilight Fanfiction!
There was a bit of down time between interviews and contests so I explored the vendors room and took some pics.
Boo Boo hanging out in the vendors room before his own Q & A.
The baseball scene costumes on display.
