A Picnic in the Park

Hi Everyone,

How long has it been since we've posted? Uh...Never mind, I don't even want to think about it. Lol.

Recently, Deb and I have been swamped by real life, so meetups have been changed to every other month. Real life sucks, just saying. We're still active on the Facebook group though, so come chat with us. :D

Now onto the exciting news, the next meetup has been posted!

It's a picnic at Griffith Park has been planned for March. We'll be getting together at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday March 16th.  Bring blankets, chairs, and all the fic you've been reading. Fingers crossed that it'll be a bright, sunny day for us to enjoy.

A potluck with some sandwiches, fresh fruit, and veggies sounds amazing right now! We can't wait to hear what everyone's been up to.

Join us for Movie Night!

It's been a while, hasn't it? Well, we're happy to tell you that we've got a new event for you. We're having a Movie Night!

It'll be a fun, backyard screening with your favorite movie snacks. We'll be showing "Return to Me", a cute romantic comedy starring David Duchovny and Minnie Driver. A must see movie that both Deb and I love.

This event will be at 5:00 pm Sept 21, 2013. Although the movie won't start until after dark, we've left some time so we can squeal and fangirl over our favorite fics. If you're interested in going, e-mail us asking for details or join our Facebook group, all the info can be found there.

So bring a chair, a blanket to snuggle with, and some fics ready to recc.

Aloha Pool Party!

Do you have the end of SDCC blues? Not ready to give up the "party" atmosphere? Never fear because there is always something going on for SoCal TFMU.

We had a great time on Saturday seeing some familiar faces and meeting a bunch of new ones. Happy hour at the Tilted Kilt was awesome and amazing filled with lots of booze, hugs and fangirling. I didn't take many because I might have had one or three cocktails by that time and I wasn't so concerned with taking pictures at the moment. :D!

We're keeping the party going with out August mini meet up. So grab your bathing suit, some fic, and a drink because August we're having a Pool Party at @MyBrown3y3s house in Ontario (psst, she's going back to NY for school soon so let's get her totally toasted ;D). The fun starts at noon but roll on in whenever you can. We'll have games and good times waiting for you. If you can, please bring a cold appetizer to share. Comic Con Happy Hour!

It's summer so that means it's time for San Diego Comic Con! Come join us for drinks and snacks at The Tilted Kilt at 1:30 pm next Saturday July 20th! It's right next to Petco Park, so join us for some good 'ol fashion Twi fic talk and meet some other pervs readers and writers.

SoCal TFMU News!

Hey everyone! It's been an amazing summer so far with great events but the fun isn't over yet. Our second annual SoCal TFMU exactly one month ago was a blast! It was great seeing new and old faces. We didn't get a chance to go to the big TFMU in Chicago but from out Twitter feed and pictures, it looks like it was the place to be this last weekend.

But don't put that sunscreen away just yet. Sober up a bit and get ready because we're meeting up again in San Diego during Comic Con!! Join us in 19 days for drinks, appetizers and maybe some lunch at the Tilted Kilt. Time is TBD and we'll let you know once the Saturday convention schedule is up. I don't want to double book a time when an awesome panel is going on.

We'll both [Patty and Deb] be in San Diego all day Saturday to soak up all the cool (and free) stuff in and around the Gaslamp district. We don't have convention passes but there is plenty to do and see there. If you can't make it to lunch, we hope to meet up with you at least some time during the day.

Happy Anniversary to us!

One year ago today, we met up with fifteen awesome ladies at the Olive Garden in Whittier. We can't believe how fast the year has passed. I guess its true what they say, timess flies when you're having fun. 

June 1st is right around the corner but that won't signify the end of SoCalTFMU. We have plans to continue our mini meetups as long as you ladies are still asking for them.

Registration is still open for SoCal TFMU2013. For those that have signed up but haven't filled out the lunch survey, go here to do so. If you can't make it in June, then definitely consider joining us for our mini meetups. We always have great food, conversations, and games!

Down to the Wire

Hello Ladies!

Long time no post, right? Lol. Sorry we've been MIA lately. It's getting down to the last couple of weeks, which we're VERY excited about, and there's still lots to do. We've been so busy getting everything sorted for you, so that when the day comes you won't have to worry about a thing, except for meeting amazing people and having fun!

We mentioned a few weeks ago that lunch was going catered. We've decided to go with Subway, because who doesn't love Subway?! :D Please fill out the Lunch Form by next Wednesday.

Just some friendly reminders; the fee has been raised to $80. We'll be closing down registration in a week and a half, so sign up before it closes on May 26th.

Don't forget we also host mini meetups every month. So if you aren't able to make it to the June 1st meetup, we'll start the mini meetups back up in July. Join our Facebook group or follow us on Twitter for more details on those.
